Why does your business need a blog?
Let’s discuss why does your business need a blog in 2020. Over the past few years, I have worked with many people on a variety of projects, and I have often had to give advice or discuss what is good for a site. It was then that I was often asked the question – “Okay” why should we have a blog? Don’t we have a website? ”
How can a business use a blog?
Honestly, I’ve approached each time in a different way to try to explain to clients why their business really needs a blog. I admit, the first few times I had to, I couldn’t argue properly, and my recommendation was often ignored. Thus, a few months later, blogs entered en masse, and now almost every company has tried to maintain its own blog, which serves not only as a news stream and as a contact with its customers, seeking their opinion on products or services that the business offers.
In fact, this is the biggest advantage of blogs – the ability to reach your customers and their opinions.
If you’ve ever been in any business, whether it’s offering a service or a product, you’ve probably appreciated the value of data in the marketplace. It is these data that allow each business to take the right path and improve, which in turn provides a wider market and more customers.
Blog or social media?
We have all witnessed how social networks such as Twitter and Facebook have evolved in the last year and now offer convenient tools for managing a brand’s social presence in their world, most often in the form of groups, fan pages, or special applications. Given that almost everyone already has a Facebook account, businesses have turned to this social network in order to increase access to potential customers and this is usually a successful way to develop a business on the Internet, but like everything, it has various disadvantages that one must anticipate.
One of the biggest disadvantages is that you don’t really have complete control over your social media pages and you can actually build an incredibly successful environment for selling services and goods, but it can also collapse in minutes. There are many examples of this, and the latest updates of the social network Facebook have made it clear that sooner or later this social network will become paid in one form or another.
With all this in mind, whenever it came to “Blog or social media?”, I advised clients to develop the two in parallel, trying to connect things in some way, encouraging their Facebook fans to use their blog as a source of information.
True, social platforms give you an indispensable source of customers, but it’s always good to keep one thing in mind. That’s why, take advantage of social networks, but at the same time take advantage of the opportunities that blogs give you!
Tips on how to develop a blog for your business
I still remember the words of the teacher when I went to driving courses – “Here you learn in theory. Practice will make your drivers! ”Or, to paraphrase,“ Here I give you tips on how to start blogging about your business. Practice will teach you all the other subtleties! ”
Here are some tips I can give you:
- Present in detail and realistically each of your products;
- Seek the opinion of your future and current customers;
- Approve negative comments as well – these comments will not only help you improve your product, services but also help you gain the trust of your customers;
- Give room for expression to your customers. It’s amazing how successful the so-called “What do our customers think of us?” Pages bring you;
- Be persistent! Create a scheme and try to publish regularly articles closely related to your business. I personally usually apply the 3 × 1 scheme (3 articles per month)
I think these few tips will give you direction when starting a blog about your business and why does your business need a blog. If you have ideas, feel free to share it in the form of a comment below this article.
